Biography
Laurens Vandercruysse is professor at the Department of Applied Economics of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and senior researcher at the Royal Musea of Fine Arts Belgium. His research focuses on the nexus of personal data governance and competition using a multidisciplinary approach. His doctoral dissertation concentrated on economic impact of the General Data Protection Regulation, and data protection impact assessments (DPIAs) in particular. Current research interests include socioeconomic implications of personal data sovereignty, competition in data(-related) markets, public sector data governance, and human-centric artificial intelligence.
